
June 2010 - Since 1981, Fumigation Service & Supply, Inc. (FSS) has grown to have regional offices in Indianapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati, Bloomington, IL, Nashville, Jonesboro, and Cedar Rapids. On May 31, the Board of Directors of FSS approved the sale of its southern region. This spin off will allow Food Protection Services (FPS), to expand its territory to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. John Mueller, formerly of Fumigation Service & Supply, will be a new owner and Ricky Vincent will be a new regional manager for Food Protection Services Fumigation Service & Supply’s owner David Mueller stated: “This is a great opportunity for John and Ricky to grow this new fumigation territory. This was a unique way to sell our southern region while continuing to offer our core fumigation business to our existing customers in the north central region of the United States.”
April 2010 - Fumigation Service & Supply, Inc. has added 2 new Managers to their team. Curt Lilleodden is now the Regional Manager of the Cedar Rapids, IA office. Lilleodden joins our team with as an experiences pest management professional and fumigator. He has been in the pest management industry since 1991 and a licensed fumigator since 1993.
Ryan Yutzy joins the headquarters in Westfield, IN as a Safety Coordinator and Fumigator in training. Yutzy recently graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Organizational Leadership and Supervision with a minor in Entomology.
FSS looks forward to the future with the addition of these Managers.

Fumgiation Service & Supply, Inc. of Westfield, Indiana and Spectros Instruments of Hopedale, Masachusetts have formed a partnership to provide basic to advanced fumigation monitoring insruments, equipment, and software. This agreement focuses on the North American post harvest fumigation market and will provide advancements in safety, performance, reliability, and improved fumigation management.
These two companies have worked together for six years focusing on product development and field trials. Dennis Glennon with Spectros Instruments says, "This technology is proven to be accurate and sound but making sense of this in a market as diverse as the fumgiation industry has been the challenge. The modular components, software and flexible remote access to information is fulfilling obvious needs and bridging gaps in the fumgiation market place." John Mueller from Fumigation Service & Supply, Inc. says, "This equipment has taken us into the 21 century and is providing us with improved worker safety and more accurate data to make better decisions. This technology will also provide a continued stream of improvements and capabilities into the future - this is very exciting!"
Fumigation Service & Supply will provide the marketing and sole distribution for Spectors Instruments in North American post harvest fumigation market. In addition, FSS will provide basic repair and maintnence of Instruments and Equipment.

Alain Van Ryckgehm, BCE, has been asked to speak at the 73rd Purdue Pest Conference on January 5-9. He will speak on 'New Developments in Pheromones and Their Use in IPM.' Alain will provide an update on pheromone research and how these findings impact IPM programs. Pest behavior, monitoring, and management will be stressed.

Alain VanRyckeghem, BCE, and Patrick Kelley, ACE, of Insects Limited, Inc. have been honored with the invitation to author / co-author respectively the Pheromones chapter in the upcoming 10th edition of the Mallis Handbook.
VanRyckeghem is a member of the Entomological Society of America (ESA) and Pi Chi Omega fraternity. VanRyckeghem was also a contributing editor to the 9th edition of the Mallis Handbook of Pest Control for the Stored Food Insects chapter. He has been with the 27 year old company of Insects Limited for 10 years now but has a long stadning background with stored product insects. VanRyckeghem is also busy with pheromone synthesis in the Insects Limited Lab.
Kelley is a member of ESA and Pi Chi Omega as well as a Chair of the IPM Working Group. Kelley specializes in the area of stored product insects. He has been with the company for over 20 years and works with pheromone formulations and dispensing along with pheromone trap and lure research.

David and John Mueller were awarded the Innovator Award by the EPA in Montreal, Canada.
On September 19, 2007, the Best-of-the-Best Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award for Leadership and Innovation in Methyl Bromide Alternatives was presented to Fumigation Service & Supply, Inc. at the 20th Montreal Protocol Awards ceremony. The Montreal Protocol is an international treaty with a focus on the ozone layer and regulating the products that deplete and cause damage to it.
The Montreal Protocol has often been referred to as the most successful international environmental agreement. During the past 20 years, the atmospheric concentrations of harmful ozone depleting substances, like methyl bromide, have declined.
"By embracing cooperation over confrontation, EPA and our vital partners like Fumigation Service & Supply are continuing to create a better tomorrow by protecting the Earth's atmosphere today," said EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson. "We at EPA join the global community in celebrating the anniversary of the Montreal Protocol - a shining example of how human ingenuity, leadership, and determination can create a healthier, better world."
David and John began the efforts of phasing out methyl bromide fifteen years ago. In 1995, David received the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award for 'Personal Initiative in Methyl Bromide Alternatives.' John received the same Stratospheric Award in 2006 'For Leadership and Innovations in Implementing Methyl Bromide Alternatives.' For the company, Fumigation Service & Supply, was recognized in 1997 for the 'Best-of-the-Best Award for Technical Innovation in Pest Control Fumigation without Methyl Bromide.'
David Mueller stated: "It is an honor to be recognized for our efforts but more importantly the problem was recognized and many people worked hard to discover alternatives to reverse the depletion of ozone that protects everyone and everything on this planet from harmful rays from the sun."
