
Alain VanRyckeghem received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Environmental Resource Sciences from Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. VanRyckeghem was also a principle contributing author and editor for provincial license training manuals on fumigation, structural pest control and termite control.
In 1999, Alain joined Insects Limited Inc. inWestfield,Indiana as their Technical Director. Alain now specializes in stored food and fabric insect pests. In addition to providing training courses in pest management and identification of stored food pests, he does laboratory and field research to develop pheromone lure and trapping systems. He has extensive experience in field inspections and designing pest management programs for pests in the food, pharmaceutical and museum industries. Alain expanded his practical skills into organic chemistry by volunteering at the chemistry labs of Syracuse University, and now synthesizes many of the unique pheromones available from Insects Limited.
Alain VanRyckeghem is a board certified entomologist (BCE) a member of the American Entomological Society, and Pi Chi Omega fraternity. VanRyckeghem was also a contributing editor to the 9th edition of the Mallis Handbook of Pest Control for the Stored Food Insects chapter; and author for a chapter on Pheromones, the recent Mallis Handbook of Pest Control 10th edition.
